know Me

Hi! I'm Valeria Niño, the founder of Chicas on Court Academy and a certified tennis coach based in Vancouver. I started this program in 2025 because I’ve always believed that tennis should be accessible, welcoming, and empowering—especially for young girls.

As a Latina and someone who moved to Canada, I know how hard it can be to find spaces where we feel truly seen and supported. Through my work with Tennis BC and programs like Girls Set Match and the Rookie Tours, I saw the impact sport can have—not just on physical health, but on confidence, friendships, and identity.

That’s why I created Chicas on Court: to offer a safe, fun, and culturally connected space for Latina girls who are just starting their journey in tennis. My goal is to introduce them to the sport in a way that feels exciting and meaningful—through small-group lessons, bilingual coaching (English & Spanish), and lots of encouragement.

This isn’t just about tennis—it’s about helping girls find their voice, build confidence, and stay active in a space that truly feels like theirs.

Thanks for being here. I can’t wait to meet you and your family on the court!
